“We value worship that that is vital, original, and exciting.”
1. Worship should be Vital
The word “vital” has two common meanings. The first one is that it is something which is a necessity. Our vital organs are the ones we cannot live without.
The second meaning has to do with “vitality.” It shares a root with vitality, vivacious, vivid, and Viagra.
2. Worship should be original.
Isaiah 42:1 “Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth.”
Ephesians 5:19-- “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.” That is, with old songs and new.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms , hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
3. Worship should be exciting.
Not ever worship experience is a passionate encounter. Often our worship does not touch us. Even then, we should worship, even if it is only a matter of the will. Nevertrheless, we should pursue worship with passion. Deut 6:6-9 tells us.
"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
This is our first resolution as a church—that we pursue vital, original, and exciting worship both in public and private. . That we have a daily time of worship before the Lord, and that that worship time should be different from last year, How we worship is up to us, but that we worship is all important. God will bless us when we take time to be with him
